Wilf passed away in 2014 just before his 90th birthday. He was a lovely man who lived an honest life devoted to his family and church. He became a member of St. Thomas More church in 1961 and never willingly missed mass from then on. In the early days he helped to run dances and the church fetes. Later he took over the organisation of the collecting and counting of the collections. He did many handy jobs for the upkeep of the church voluntarily ~ Pat Hunt

Sean was a member of the Parish for over 40 years. He had a great devotion to Our Lady along with his sister Maire and enjoyed  going to Walsingham. He was  a very friendly man and always made time for people especially the older members of the parish.  He was a great family man, he loved his children, and grandchildren, playing golf and socialising with his friends.  He was sadly diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease and died at 64 years old. He is greatly missed and affectionately remembered  for his ‘hugs’ by parishioners.  ~ Stephanie

Jimmy Doherty & Mona Doherty

Jimmy and Mona were regular worshippers and were both active and devoted members of St Hughs and the surrounding Parish.  They managed the Church Hall bookings together; Dad helped to paint the church a number of times and he laid the floor with Ann-Marie’s husband, in the recently demolished church hall.

Mum was part of the Catholic Mothers Union; an eager traveller and organiser of many of the Parish pilgrimages to Lourdes, Medjugore and the Parish retreats to Walsingham etc.  She also attended the weekly Mother’s Prayer Group in Kidlington and the Bible Group in the Convent at Begbroke.

With great pride they were both awarded the Ubi Caritas medal from the Bishop which was recognition of a life supporting the Parish.

Our heartfelt thanks together with those of the family to Lou Borucki for organising the Zoom for the Requiem and recording it. Also for organising the video link to the hall.
